The recent studies show that nowadays the audience of social media network is comparable only with the TV audience although in some cases it even exceeds the latter one. But social network audience is more attentive, mobile and active. Therefore, the social media platforms have become an important tool for interaction with the target audience and the trust of this audience cannot be bought but it can only be deserved. According to a recent study by Social Media Examiner in 2016 more than 89% of respondents believe that presence in social media network has an impact on their business, 67% of marketers use social media platforms to form a pool of loyal customers.
The level of knowledge and experience of users in social networks (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, OK, VK, TripAdvisor, etc.) among the market participants in the tourism sector ofKyrgyzstan in Karakol, in particular, is not high today. Therefore, one of the objectives of the USAID BGI Project and these trainings are to build a capacity of small medium enterprises (SME) in the field of social media marketing.
Trainings are held in interactive format. Upon completion of the training the trainees will undergo a 3-month internship at the local tourist companies who are the members of the "Destination Karakol" in order to promote the tourist services by using the social networks.
